I love discovering new teaware. The act of brewing, drinking and sharing tea encompasses not just the tea itself but the teaware. What you drink out of is almost as important as the tea you drink. Notice I said almost.

Imagine drinking a Ti Kuan Yin Oolong out of a styrofoam cup. I know you just cringed. But truthfully, a beautifully designed teapot and teacup can make all the difference in a cup of tea.

    Here’s how.

I recently received Zens Lifestyle Cobblestone Outdoor Tea Set and was instantly enchanted by its refined beauty. The package arrived from China to the United States in perfect condition while the tea set inside was snuggly packed safe and sound.

The matte-finished white porcelain is smooth to the touch with softly rounded curves much like water formed stone. Which is exactly what the designers intended. It is simply elegant.

It’s clear the inspiration for the Cobblestone Collection came from river stones slowly shaped over time. I couldn't stop holding the teacup, it just feels so nice and soft and fits perfectly in my hands.

Holding the matte porcelain teacup provides a sense of calm. It reminds me of the feeling I get when I pick up a stone from the beach that has gradually worn smooth after years of tumbling in the surf.

From the moment you pick up and hold the cobblestone in hand, you can sense its life and long story of tranquility and peace.” - Zens Lifestyle

The bamboo handled teapot has a beautiful pour. It doesn’t drip and you can effortlessly control the stream. I love that. The set comes with 4 teacups, a lidded sugar bowl with a bamboo spoon, and a milk jug. It even comes with a tea light candle holder making a perfect tea setting.

    Cleaning:

      • The set is so beautiful I almost didn’t want to use it. Before using the manufacturer advises bathing the pieces in warm saltwater. This cleans the porcelain.
      • Note: A mix of salt, water, and baking soda to make a soft scrub will also clean stubborn tea stains without damaging your porcelain teaware.

    About Zens Lifestyle

Founded in 2009, ZENS began designing home utensils and décor based on the concepts of simplicity, imagination, and contemporary design.

ZENS’s hand-made tea ware incorporates the traditional craft of teapot-making. The minimalist Asian style tea set is designed for everyday use for Chinese and Japanese style tea.

The Zens Lifestyle Cobblestone Tea Set is not a traditional gongfu style, however, it is more of a bridge between Western-style and Eastern style tea drinking. That's why it is one of their more popular items.

When I look at this tea set it stands alone as a piece of art on my table. The tranquility of the pieces draws me in to pause and simply enjoy its beauty. That’s good design.

What I Love About Zens Lifestyle Cobblestone Tea Set

The tea set is beautiful, elegant and sophisticated. I can see myself using it almost every day. The craftsmanship is superb, and the design is just so pretty. I love it.

The teapot is a nice size at 28 ounces (800 ml) with a very nice sleek design and the cobblestone shaped lid fits perfectly on top. The natural bentwood bamboo handle feels good in the hand and gives a nice controlled pour.

I can’t wait to use this to take tea on my patio in the spring.

Why are The Teacups So Small?

The teacups are small compared to most western style teacups, but that doesn’t bother me. I like them.

Americans are taught to brew tea by getting a giant mug, filling it with BOILING water, and plopping teabags into it for a very long time. (Guilty). This results in a scalding bitter mess.

Smaller teacups cool faster and allow for multiple pours while the tea stays hot in the teapot. The smaller teacups allow a group of people to connect together and share one teapot.

In Chinese culture the teacups are very small, normally holding no more than 1 ounce (30 ml) of liquid. By comparison, these cups are almost twice the size of traditional Chinese teacups.

Another cool idea for the Zens Lifestyle teacups if you want, you can use them for serving desserts like a sorbet or perhaps using them for dips. This works perfectly since the double-walled cups keep the tea hot, they also keep the sorbet or dip cold.

This elegant tea set is a MUST have! Honestly, I would not share this if I didn’t think it was a quality product. Zens Lifestyle products are available on the Zens Lifestyle website and Amazon.

Think about it. Party season is coming up. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years...

This post is sponsored by Zens Lifestyle who provided the Cobblestone Outdoor Tea Set. As someone who has been sipping tea for years, I was thrilled to accept it!

This tea set is really beautiful! I love a good tea set also and actually I am so obsessed with getting it right that I actually don't have one. I have pieces of course, but not an official tea set. I am always looking though and this tea set is so versatile and functional that I can see myself using it. Thanks for sharing!
