Green tea latte made with matcha, milk, and espresso. It blends (almond) milk with matcha green tea and espresso. Kind of like a cappuccino only better.
In a cup, whisk together sifted matcha with warm water (do not use hot water).
Heat milk in a saucepan until warm. Froth milk until foamy and doubled in volume.
Pour matcha tea into an 8-ounce cup.
Pour frothed milk over matcha and add espresso.
Add sugar (optional) and stir to dissolve.
Serve and enjoy.
Notes
No Espresso Machine? No Problem!
The only catch is making the espresso and frothing the milk at home. Most American kitchens don't have espresso or cappuccino machines readily available. Not to worry. There are two easy fixes for that:
My favorite espresso maker is Bialetti Stainless Steel stovetop espresso coffee maker. I use the stainless steel instead of the aluminum version because I have an induction cooktop. Every Italian kitchen has a stovetop espresso maker much like every American kitchen has an automatic drip coffee maker.
To froth the milk for the cappuccino style beverage you just need a simple milk frother.
